Duke is back to Duke

November 27th 2010 in Uncategorized

I’m very happy to post that he is perfectly healed and back to normal. Actually he’s better than before. His skin and coat are healthier, he’s gained about 10-12 pounds now, also just seems to be happier. We had no idea how sick that little nub was making him. No more screaming spells either. Stitches came out on Wed, which was alittle difficult, but we pulled throught it. He’s off the prednisone and I’m slowly weaning off pain meds. I’m so happy my baby is back.

you know that was one of the first things we noticed about Cooper after his amputations, when his incision healed almost immediately his coat started to improve, he has always had skin troubles and when brushed you could fill a 30 gallon trash bag every time, I just brushed him this morning and all I had was 2 brushfuls to throw away! The second vet had suspected an infection rather than cancer when he first looked at Cooper, and as Cooper seems to reverse in aging after these surgeries I wonder. But what great news THat Duke is doing so great! We are so happy for you!

That is fantastic news! I’m so so happy to hear the Duke is recovering and doing so well. Thanks for the great update. Give that sweet boy a big hug for Fortis and I.

I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
